LAST MILE CITY

The last mile - a logistical challenge that requires intelligent and future-oriented concepts.
How can deliveries within a Mega City be made efficiently?

LAST MILE

Inner-city areas are already overloaded with traffic. Even if traffic-calmed zones are designated in many neighbourhoods, the problem of delivery still remains:

Parcel services, e-commerce have become a large part of traffic, and even if private transport is completely banned in city centres, there will still be an extremely high volume of traffic on the roads.

Delivery journeys for goods ordered on the internet alone have multiplied in recent years and will continue to increase. The problem for providers and logistics service providers: these journeys on the so-called "last mile", i.e. from the logistics centre in the periphery to the final recipient, devour two thirds of the total logistics costs. And we haven't even taken into account the costs for the general public such as environmental pollution, time lost in traffic jams and the dangers for road users, etc.!

OUR CONCEPT

In order to overcome the last mile in large cities as efficiently and thus cost-effectively as possible, our intelligent parking systems can be converted into small decentralised logistics warehouses.

The idea is that instead of transporting the goods through the crowded streets into the city during the day, we store them at night in our parking or, in this case, logistics systems. The distance between the periphery and the city centre can be covered much faster and thus more cost-effectively at this time of day.

After delivery by large trucks, the goods are repacked in our logistics centre onto small vans, bicycles or similar. These are already parked in our system and ready to be loaded.

The next morning, the delivery driver can take his van or bicycle out of the system and start his route directly within the city.

WÖHR COMBILIFT

Our Combilift systems are modular parking systems that can store vehicles on up to three levels and in up to four rows one behind the other. The new COMBILIFT generation is even more space-saving, even more flexible and even more powerful.

WÖHR COMBIPARKER

The Combiparker semi-automatic parking system offers space-saving and compact parking with a variety of arrangement options.

WÖHR PARKSAFE

If "parking ideas" are skyrocketing, it is very likely that one of these automatically controlled parking systems is involved. Following the principle of a shelf, the vehicles are parked in compartments on the right and left. This creates a tower, a shaft or a tower/shaft combination - entirely according to the individual project requirements. In the Parksafe models from WÖHR, a central lift is installed that transports the cars fully automatically to a free shelf compartment where they are stored safely against theft and vandalism.
